Did you know that the OH&S course has been restructured very similar to the SLS ( Steward Learning Series ) . There is an mandatory introduction then followed with half day sections. We will be having a full week long of Occupational Heath and Safety courses. If you are an experienced safety representative or new to the role of an OH&S rep or a steward needing more information about your rights and responsibilities this will be the course for you.
The Annual General Meeting for the 2017 Spring NADC will take place on Thursday March 2nd at 3:00 pm in the Skylight ballroom of the Prince George Ramada Hotel.
The general meeting for the NADC will be 3:00 pm. on Thursday September 29th in the Marie Pomoroy room. Please ensure you attend as the future courses for NADC will be discussed.
After the meeting there will be a full supper provided by NADC at 7 pm.
Today all the of the courses for the fall NADC are underway. Steward Learning Series, OH&S, Facing Management and Facing Management.
14 more activists have joined the OH&S activists in taking classes at NADC. These 14 will be taking three days of the Steward Learning Series. This series will assist them in their ability to represent our members.
Local #4653 Fort St. John schools is providing a social evening tonight with appetizers being served in the Scotty Pomeroy room at 6:00 pm.
Come on out and meet your fellow brother and sisters who are attending the various NADC classes.
People have arrived for the Occupational Health and Safety course, the instructors are getting things ready in the Sterling room and people are excited to get the course underway. Some CUPE education at its finest !

TRAVEL ASSISTANCE GRANT
Travel grants amounting to $6,000 per NADC meeting (total of $12,000 per year) are available to assist Locals in sending delegates to the regular NADC meetings and/or courses. CUPE BC allocates $6,000 per year and is matched by NADC.
The deadline to apply is September 15th, 2016

Adopt a Local
CUPE 3799 has established an annual bursary in the amount of $1000 to be granted to a CUPE Local of less than 50 members that is sending a member to any CUPE Training. Preference will be given to Locals in the north.
If your Local would like to apply, please send Local 3799 a letter via email, fax or mail stating that you would like to apply and what training your local member/s will be attending. Deadline for applications is September 15th, 2016
